Trivia Dates

I thought it was a good idea to invite guys to meet me at taproom trivia. Here are their stories (dun-dun).

Sparkly Shoes

This guy was so over the top. Let me emphasize, this was trivia at a brewery. He showed up saying he works at a new rooftop restaurant known for their brunch. I asked what it was called and he was shocked I never heard of it. He wore loafers covered in glitter,1 not my type.

The Group Date

This guy had a prompt saying “together, we could double date” so I enlisted my roommate to join me on this one. He brought a friend too and we played a decent game of trivia, followed by a trip to another bar. This guy ordered two espresso martinis at 10pm and then started making fun of me for being the oldest in the group. I decided it was time to go and received a text the next day saying it was the caffeine. I feel bad for anyone who has to interact with him after his morning coffee.

The Time I Didn’t Know Anything

Now I’ve been going to this specific trivia for months. I’ve even won before! It’s generally easy, some categories I’d be clueless in – such as sports or space exploration – but that’s normal. I kid you not, on this date I knew the answer to zero questions and it was my idea to go to trivia, how embarrassing! Anyway, the guy asked me out again so I must not have seemed like an uncultured swine. Keep reading to find out more about this dating failure.2
