Summer Pool Party

Bruce was one of those matches that immediately asks you on a date. I remember being at the beach with my friends and saying, “Oooooh, someone just asked on a date tonight!” I don’t get dating anxiety, I think meeting someone in person is a quick way to judge your interest. Scrolling through dating profiles brings me no excitement.

Bruce got points for planning a good date so quickly. We went to a restaurant that specializes in mojitos, how unique! Our second date was an adventure, we had a picnic and went paddle boarding. We dated for a bit, hanging out at his pool, cooking dinner together, but the red flag was that he lived with his mother.

One day we both invited our friends over for a pool party. We were drinking Caipirinha cocktails, Clase Azul tequila, and dancing to Cardi B’s WAP. Everyone was having a great time until he pushed me in the pool. I was pissed because I was in pool party attire (with my makeup done), not pool swimming attire. So I went upstairs to take a shower and change. When I got back to the pool and unlocked my phone I noticed my Hinge was open. Bruce had been watching me put my password in and decided to snoop through my phone when he had the opportunity.

This relationship ended in a big blow up. Even worse, my friend got pink eye from the pool. Honestly, I was looking for an excuse to end it; but yes, one summer I dated a guy for his pool.
