The Set Up

I was set up by a coworker, that’s how people meet sometimes, right? It was her son’s friend, he was over 30 and had a kid. Apparently, this was deemed as my type after I once dated someone with a kid for a few months. We were given each other’s names and he added me on Facebook. After a few messages we exchanged numbers and all seemed well. He was engaging to text, although a little arrogant, and we decided to “meet” on Facetime.

This next part will scream red flag, but I didn’t think much of it at the time. We chatted from our bedrooms, this was right after COVID, so it was sort of a normal thing to do. I showed him around my room and he asked to see what my body looked like. So I stood in front of the mirror with my phone in hand. Nothing sexual, just me wearing leggings and a t-shirt. We hung up and the next thing really threw me by surprise… Dick pic. What?!

I recognize now how skeevy that was, but I must have really been desperate because we ended up going on a date. He picked me up, we went to my favorite spot for tapas, and he dropped me off after. I don’t think he liked me because we didn’t end up going out again. However, when I turned 30 I must have fallen into his age preferences on Hinge because he sent me a like. This bothers me so much when this happens, because I know you have my number dude. I hit the X and moved on with my life. As you may guess, my coworker’s son won’t let her set me up again.
